Div Com reviews measures being taken to tackle Dengue in Jammu
Asks to ensure availability of adequate medicines, equipments to treat patients

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today chaired a meeting with health department to review the measures being taken up to deal with Dengue in the Jammu division.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Principal GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina, Director Health Services, Dr Samir Matoo, Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety Officer Jammu, Dr Parvesh Kumar and other concerned.The Director informed that adequate measures are being taken up to combat the spread of dengue in the region.The officers, while briefing the Div Com on measures being taken to deal with the disease, informed that the health functionaries at every level have been directed to take appropriate preventive measures to save the people from this virus.The meeting was informed that around 200 dengue patients have been found positive in the region. It was further informed that adequate arrangements have been put in place to treat the patients and to deal with the disease. The concerned officers apprised that sufficient blood and treatment and diagnostic equipments are available in the hospitals and no casualty is reported, so far.The Div Com directed JMC for ensuring regular sanitation drives in every ward of the city, cleanliness of lanes and drains besides fogging and sprays. He also asked the concerned to remove the abandoned vehicles from roads and other public places. He also asked the Food Safety Officers to conduct regular inspection of eatables in the city so that the people do not suffer on this account. He asked the Director Health Services to ensure that the Dengue patients get proper and immediate treatment in all the health institutions of the division. He also asked him for making sure that awareness regarding the preventive measures and treatment for Dengue is raised in every nook and corner of the region to fight the spread of this dreaded disease.
