Dr. Raman Maini today joined as Head of Department of Computer Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala in presence of his colleagues, staff members, his wife Dr. Regina Maini and family members. After joining Dr. Raman maini said his priorities include strengthening the Placement of students in reputed companies, setting up an AI and Data science Laboratory, Robotics laboratory, library, Smart classrooms. He said to develop the Computer Science & Engineering Department of Punjabi University best among the top Engineering institutes.Dr. Maini did B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently working as a Professor in Department of Computer Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala since 2012. He has a teaching experience of more than 19 years. He has more than 90 research publications to his credit in National and International journals/Conferences of repute.He is an editorial board member and reviewer of various International journals (IJIMAI, JETWI, JOC, IJIKM IJCSI, JAIT, IJMCS, IJCSKE etc.). He is a life member of various International and national organization (IAE, IACSIT ISTE, IETE and PAS) of engineers. His current area of research is Computer Vision (Specially Noise Reduction in Medical Images, Edge Detection and Image Enhancement), Computer Networks, Software Engineering, Data miningHe is Microsoft certified professional since 2000. He has been member of Board of Studies of CSE at Punjabi University, PTU and MMU, Mullana.He has more than 25M.Tech and Ph.D thesis guidance to his credit. He has been a resource person and chaired sessions in various national and international Conferences. He has been member of selection and Inspection committees of various technical and degree colleges of the region.
