“The Cooperation Department especially its leading institution i.e. Markfed has undertaken various pathbreaking initiatives in the aid of the people residing in the flood  districts of the State. The Department is also maintaining regular coordination with the District Administration of the flood ravaged areas.”Disclosing this here today, the  Cooperation Minister, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that various district offices of Markfed have taken the lead providing flood relief material to the people and the  areas affected by the floods. He said that the District Office, Markfed Jalandhar has provided 300 LDPE sheets, 2000 pp bags, 300 bags of cattlefeed, 15 Kg refined oil  (15 Tins), besides 50 packets of Garam Masala, Haldi and Lal Mirch to the District Administration for distribution to the needy people. The District Administration has  advised Markfed to arrange 100 more sheets, 200 bags of cattlefeed for emergency needs.Divulging further, S. Randhawa said that the District Office, Kapurthala has  provided 350 bags of cattlefeed and 50 specially prepared ration kits comprising Atta (3 Kg), Daal Moong Masar (1/2 Kg), 1 Litre refined oil, Basmati Rice (1 Kg), Salt,  Garam Masala, Haldi, Lal Mirch packets, 10 litre water and matchsticks and 2 large candles. Not only this, 50 extra ration kits are in the process of being prepared and  furthermore, Markfed has also been advised to provide 500 additional bags of cattlefeed for further disbursal.The minister also added that the District Office, Markfed,  Ropar has provided the District Administration a list of all edible products available with Markfed and sufficient stocks of cattlefeed is also lying with the various branches  of Ropar which can be provided as relief material to the District Administration.
