Education is closely linked with the progress of the society. No society or country can progress without quality education. This was stated by Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana K.P. Singh while inaugurating the Govt. Senior Secondary School Majatri as a Smart School, under Selfmade Smart School scheme. During this Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan was also present.In his speech Rana K.P. Singh said that the role of teachers and parents is very important in carving the future of a student. Where parents need to give special attention to their child's education, on the other hand teachers should also teach the student with full commitment and sincerity. During this Speaker also congratulated Minister of Technical Education and Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi for this smart school, and said that Selfmade Smart School project has been started by Punjab Govt. with the innovative approach and great leadership under the guidance of Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh, under the project, smart schools will be established in every district of the state. In this regard, in district SAS Nagar, 10 Senior Secondary schools, 2 High Schools and one middle school has been converted as smart school and target has been set to convert all schools in district as smart schools.During this Speaker also thanked Mr. Baldev Singh (NRI) who has provided financial assistance for converting Govt. Senior Secondary school Majatri as smart school. He said that work on BALA (Building as learning aid) has been done in entire school building, which will helpful for the learning of students.On this occasion, Rana K.P. Singh also inaugurated Water Supply Scheme of village Kambala (Near Phase 11) to provide clean water to Village-Kambala and Kambali. However he also laid the foundation stone of the Motor Market, which is being constructed at sector 65A incurring the cost of 7.5 crore. This will provide a combined platform to all the motor mechanics of the city.During this function Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mrs. Sakshi Sawhney, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Amardeep Singh Bains, SDM Kharar Mr. Vinod Bansal, District Education Officer (Secondary) Mr. Himmat Singh Hundal along with school teachers and students were present.
