Peace Committee meeting: District administration appeals to all to maintain peace

A meeting of the District Peace Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mr. MK Aravind Kumar, in which representatives of all the parties and communities decided to maintain peace and communal harmony in the district. On this occasion, the district's SSP Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi and former MLA Mrs. Karan Kaur Brar were also present.While addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. MK Aravind Kumar appealed to the leaders of all political parties and communities to maintain their goodwill in view of the recent development in Kashmir. He urged all the fragments of society to neither hold any protest nor celebrate. He said that the district administration and the police were fully geared up to handle any situation. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had given strict instructions to maintain peace in the state and no one would be allowed to break the law.

The deputy commissioner said that maintaining peace should be our top priority. He said that the returning tourists from Jammu and Kashmir should be provided safe passage and if any Kashmiri student is in our district, they will also be protected.SSP Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi on the occasion said that the police administration is fully alert. He said that all the people should cooperate to maintain peace. He said that if any suspicious person or suspicious object was seen, police should be notified immediately.Former MLA Mrs. Karan Kaur Brar said that maintaining the law and order situation was the top priority for the Punjab government and the state government has deployed all the machinery for this purpose.Among others who were present in the meeting included SDMs Mr. Gopal Singh, Mr. Randeep Singh Heer, Mr. Om Prakash, Assistant Commissioner General Mrs. Virpal Kaur, DSP Jasmeet Singh, Talwinderjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, besides Mr. Naresh Paruthi, Bhupinder Singh, Binder Goneana, Avtar Singh, Imran, Hossam, Hari Ram, Deepak Pal Sharma, Kharaiti Lal, Ravinder Katari, Rajesh Patella were present.

Beware of the rumors

In meeting SSP Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi appealed to the residents to beware of the rumors. He appealed the people not to share any hatred post on any social media platform which divide the society.  He warned that if anyone found in spreading hatred posts on social media then strict action would be taken by the police as per the rules.
