Highlighting the state government's new industrial policy which is aimed at boosting the industry especially agro-based industries in the state, Deputy Commissioner  Manpreet Singh Chhatwal today said that cases of setting up of industrial projects up to Rs.10 crores will be approved at district level.Presiding over the meeting with the industrialists of Basmati processing and export industry, he said that the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh led state government has enacted the new policy keeping in mind the setting up of new industries and upgrading the old ones. "The state government has implemented new rule, with which speedy approval to establish new industries up to Rs.10 crore will be given at district level", he said, adding that this move will be very fruitful and hassle-free for industrialists.He said that industry department will fully help and guide new entrepreneurs desirous to set up their ventures in the district. He apprised that Industry Department has appointed dedicated employee at district level to extend all kind of help to the new entrepreneur from the time of the submission of his application on "Business First" portal of the state government. 

He said that any entrepreneur can approach office of the District Industry Center at Room No.203, Block-C, District Administrative Complex.Mr. Chhatwal said that district Fazilka produces world's best quality Basmati and exports 80 percent of the produce. "Industrialists of the district export Basmati to the tune of around Rs.3,000 crores every year", he said. Mr. Chhatwal said that Basmati based industry is boon for the district economy. Emphasizing to prepare local skilled workers to meet the need of the industrialists, he said that feasibilities will be explored to start needful trade at par with the requirements of the local industrialists in district ITIs. The Deputy Commissioner also listened to the grievances of the industrialists and assured that he would bring into the notice of the state government to resolve the issues.  During meeting, district entrepreneur Mr. Ranjam Kamra, District Industries Center General Manager Mrs. Sushma Kumari, Functional Manager Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Industry Officer Mr. Kulwant Verma and other representatives of industries were also present.
