Generation Saviour Association organizes 22nd Inter-School Painting Competition

More than 600 students participated in the Inter School On the Spot Drawing Competition

Generation Saviour Association, an NGO working in area of public health conducted an Inter School drawing competition to mark it’s two month long celebration of World No Tobacco Day.Over 600 students from different schools of tri-city participated in this event.The participants were educated about  the ill effects of tobacco particularly cigarettes by the President of the organization Ms Opinder Preet Kaur. Dr Rita Bhardwaj, Civil Surgeon, Mohali felicitated the students for their skills and said, “Every year 5500 children initiative the use of tobacco in India. Competitions like these are a wonderful step towards saving the future  generations from the scourge of tobacco abuse”. Ms. Harish Kumari, Principal Khalsa College encouraged the students.“Each student should be given sufficient opportunity to grow in life”, she said. Ms Surjeet Kaur, Vice President of the organization said “Every child is an artist. The role of parents and teachers is to nurture their talent so that they can make a difference to the world when they grow up .”Director Operations, Ms. Manpreet Kaur added, “This competition shall increase awareness level of students   about the harmful effects of tobacco on health”.
