Science City has organized the 9th and 10th All bread Dog show. Around 150 dogs belong to 40 bread like Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, Golden, Retriever, Rottweiler ,Boxer, Pomerralnial, pug, St.Bernard, Bulmastiff Caravan Hound, Rajapalyam Hound, Rampur Hound, Venjari Hound, Santal Hound, Indian MASTIFF, Indian Pariah Dog, Himalayan Sheep Dog, Bully Kutta and Pointer were participated. In ring two French Bulldog, Welsh Korgi,and Boxer bagged to first, second and third prize. In ring one Boxer, Labradog and Jerman Shaephered was won first second and third prize.Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala, Sh. Mohammed Tayyab was chief gust on this occasion, said that, Dogs have earned distinction of being man’s best friends. Dog have not only offered love and affections, but worked side by side with their human counter part for centuries. With an incredible sense of smell, dog can smell thing 10 thousand times greater than human can. A well trained sniffer dog is used in detection of explosives, illegal drug, theft and various other crimes. On This occasion Dr. Rajesh Grover,Director Science City said That In human-populated landscapes, domestic dogs are the most abundant terrestrial carnivore, with a global population close to a billion. In India, total dog population is estimated to be about 60 million. All dogs are part of the same species, but their genes can dictate whether they are Chihuahua or a Great Dane. There can be a lot of variation in genes that make up the genetic diversity of dogs in terms of colors, sizes, and shapes. There is need to bring awareness in the society about faunal biodiversity with a focus on salient features of various breeds of dogs.Further he said with this objective, PGSC, Kapurthala is organizing 9th and 10thAll Breed Open Dog Show at its premises. I am sure that this event will provide an opportunity for our visitors to explore diversity and enjoy every moment. A Special Dog Show was organized by Central Jail Kapurthla on this occasion .
