District Development Commissioner    Rahul Yadav today inaugurated one day workshop under National Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Hub(NSSH)  and other related schemes organized by Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board Poonch, here.Deputy CEO KVIB Jammu, District Officer  KVIB Rajouri and Poonch Sameer Ahmad, district officers of line departments, cluster Head J&K Bank Mr.Parvez Mir, Lead District Manager Poonch,  Representative of Director RSETI Poonch, District Nodal Officer JKEDI Mr. Fayeem Mir, Project Manager DIC Waheed Ahmed, Asstt. Director  Handloom Mohammad Arshad Nomani, Chief Animal Husbandry Dr. Mohammad Younas, District Officer Sheep Husbandry Dr. Sandeep Bassan  Poonch, representative of Handicraft Mr.Sanjeev Kumar, Sarpanches and Panches participants of targeted population were present on the occasion.

The workshop was organized for the dissemination of information about various schemes of the central and State Governments for welfare of  scheduled caste/scheduled Tribe population.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said schemes like National ST/SC Hub are envisaged to impart entrepreneurial skills to ST/SC population to enable  them to establish the MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises). He said NSSH can play a pivotal role in socio-economic development of these  marginalized communities and bring them at par with the mainstream.He said under capacity building initiative of NSSH programme, around 2000 SC/ST  entrepreneurs will be imparted skill training by skill councils for establishing enterprises by formulating clusters.He said in order to give upward flip to the  business of MSEs owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs, the government has mandated 4% of total procurement by central Ministries, Departments and  CPSEs from these MSEs.The Dy CEO KVIB briefed the tribal population about the benefits entailed under various self employment schemes and  flagship programmes for inclusion of marginalized communities in developmental process. He also gave knowledge of eligibility criteria and other  parameters fixed by policy makers.District Officer KVIB Rajouri & Poonch gave a power point presentation on the benefits to various self employment  schemes like Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP) and flagship programmes of  Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment  Generation Programme.It was also given out that district Rajouri & Poonch have recorded highest number of cases under PMEGP.
