Advisor to Governor, KK Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Katra and inspected progress on development projects coming up in the holy township.He also held a meeting with officials of various departments to discuss issues of the town.The Advisor, along with Financial Commissioner HUDD, KB Agarwal, CEO Shri MataVaishno Devi Shrine Board, Simrandeep Singh and DC Reasi, Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode conducted after extensive tour of the town and, shortlisted civic and others issues for immediate redressal.Advisor Sharma also visited the site for Solid Waste Treatment Plant and discussed the project with engineers and experts. He also discussed possible bottlenecks in the project and proposed solutions. He also suggested for carrying out massive afforestation around the plant to rejuvenate the local environment.During the visit to proposed site for Inter-State Bus Terminal, Advisor Sharma reviewed the project plan. He observed that the project has huge potential for employment generation and asked the concerned to take measures in this regard. He hoped that the facility will help in the decongestion of the holy town. He   directed the authorities to introduce modern modes of transport for inter-town conveyance.Earlier, during the meeting, Advisor Sharma reviewed drinking water supply scenario and beautification of the town including steps for reducing non bio degradable waste. The proposals for developing various tourist amenities were also discussed at the meeting.SDM Katra Ashok Kumar, ASP, Naresh Singh and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
