DDC Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today flagged off a rally under Swasth Bharat Yatra from TRC premises Kupwara.The rally comprising of the students from various educational institutions and prominent citizens, civil society members and other people passed through various markets of Kupwara town to sensitize people about food safety measures.The event was organised by Food Safety Department Kupwara under the aegis of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.DDC Kupwara on the occasion said that the need of the hour is to create awareness about healthy food choices among people to avoid non-communicable diseases. He emphasized that food safety has now emerged a national concern making it imperative for all to follow the advice of experts and also disseminate the message of food safety to our vicinities and villages.The participants later pledged to eat right, eat safe, eat healthy and eat fortified food besides to reduce sugar salt and oil.The function was attended by SSP Kupwara, ADDC Kupwara, ACR, CO 3 J&K Battalion, NCC Baramulla, ACFS Kupwara, students and other concerned.
