Under the able guidance of President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, honourableArya Rattan Dr. PunamSuri, Padamshree and the aegis of AryaPradeshikPratinidhiUpsabha (APP), Punjab, on October 7, 2018, as a part of the weekly AryaSatsang&HawanYajna series, at AryaSamaj, Lohgarh, a hawanyajna dedicated to the noble Mahatma Anand Swami was organized by DAV International School, on his birth anniversary, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta and with the blessings of President, APP Upsabha, Punjab – Principal J.P. Shoor, Secretary, APP, Upsabha Punjab – Principal Dr. (Mrs.) NeelamKamra and President, AryaSamaj, Lohgarh, Manager Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. On this pious occasion , O.P. Soni, Education Minister, Punjab was the Chief Guest who was accorded a floral welcome by Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta. Chairman of the school Dr.V.P. Lakhanpal, Secretary APP Upsabha, Punjab Dr. Ms. NeelamKamra were also present on the occasion. The holy yajna performed by the little scholars of the school was attended by its staff, students & their parents. This pious occasions also had the benign of various other eminent figures-Principal Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal Mr. Vipin Jishtu, Principal Smt. Nishi Sharma, Principal Smt. Sunita Sharma, Smt. Nirmal Gupta , Arya Samaj members including Shri Rakesh Mehra, Shri Inderpal Arya, Shri Sandeep Ahuja, Shri Deepak Mahajan, Shri Gourav Talwar, Shri Pardeep Malik, and all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.Principal, DAV Sr. Sec. School, Hathi Gate, Sh. Ajay Beri, Treasurer ,AryaSamaj, Lohgarh extended a formal welcome to the present august gathering. The music team of the school gave a mellifluous presentation of the inspiring life story of Mahatma Anand Swami which left the audience spellbound.
In her address, Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta paid rich tributes to Mahatma Anand Swami and advised all the present AryaSamajis, students & teachers to take inspiration from the life of this great saint who was a symbol of simplicity, selfless service & sacrifice. She also expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries for being a part of this prestigious programme.On this occasion, a role-play based on the eventful life of Mahatma Anand Swami was also presented by the students of the school which was applauded by one& all present there.While addressing the present gathering, Chief Guest Sh. O.P. Soni, applauded the efforts of Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta for making such wonderful arrangements for this occasion. He was full of praise for her dedication and diligence in rendering her services in the noble field of education. He also announced a donation of Rs. 11,00,000/- for DAV International School and Rs. 5,00,000/- for Arya Girls Senior Secondary School, Lohgarh, Amritsar for the further developmental purposes of both the schools.Chairman Dr. V.P. Lakhanpal also showered his blessings on the present gathering by delivering a motivational address. He guided the students to always walk on the path of righteousness to enjoy a fruitful and peaceful life. Dr. (Mrs.) NeelamKamra congratulated Principal Dr. Anjana Gupta and her team of teachers &students for putting up such a wonderful show. She also exhorted the audience to follow the footsteps of this iconic figure- Mahatma Anand Swami.Prizes were also distributed to the aspiring DAVIANS on this occasion for exhibiting wonderful performance in their Board Exams and different prestigious National & International Sports Tournaments.The programme concluded with the chanting of Shanti Paath by Sh. Om ParkashShastri followed by the Holy Rishi Langer.
