Ludhiana , 04 Sep 2018

In view of the increasing petrol & diesel prices, Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu today asked the Shiromani Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janta Party leaders to go to New Delhi and hold protests against the NDA government at the centre, rather than wasting their time by holding protests against the Punjab government. He said that if both SAD & BJP really care about the common man, then they should ‘hurry without wasting any time’ and hold protests on the streets of New Delhi against the Modi government. In a statement issued here today, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said that due to the anti-people policies of Narendra Modi led government at centre, the Petrol and Diesel prices in the country have touched an all-time high while situation in the country seems much worse, with the rupee falling against dollar and fuel prices touching an all-time high.He urged the SAD and BJP leaders of the state to question their counterparts at centre because the BJP had promised to cool down petrol and diesel prices in its manifesto but now they are trying to justify the steep, record-breaking prices of petro-products. “The value of rupee is falling down rapidly with every passing day. I would not be surprised if it touches Rs 100 per dollar in the coming days, besides even the price of petrol might touch Rs 100 per litre,” Mr Bittu said.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies are sinking India’s economy while finance minister Arun Jaitley was busy writing long-winding blogs to score political points. He said that the increase in diesel prices is impacting farmers’ lifeline, besides having a stinging effect on runaway food inflation, while the increase in Petrol prices has gravely impacted the transportation and commuting cost of the common man.“No matter how many alibis and untruths the BJP weaves, the truth is that the government systematically weakened our economy. Deliberate accidents like demonetisation, flawed GST, weakened banking sector and tax terrorism are squarely responsible,” Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said, while holding the SAD and BJP leaders responsible for not questioning their central leadership over such issues which directly impact the common man.He said that its sad that the Union government is exporting petrol and diesel at cheaper prices (as compared to prices in India). He said that Petrol and diesel are available in India in Rs 78-Rs 86 range and Rs 70-Rs 75 range respectively, but an RTI reply has revealed that the government is selling petrol to 15 countries at just Rs 34 per litre and diesel to 29 countries at Rs 37. “This is how the government has betrayed and backstabbed the people of India,” MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu said.
