DDC Bandipora reviews progress education, health sectors

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today convened separate meetings of concerned officers to review the progress under education and health sectors.The meeting discussed the functioning of colleges and higher secondary schools, progress under SSA, RMSA, MDM, issues relating to the construction of buildings beside fencing and sanitation. The meeting also reviewed the sports activities and requirement of sports infrastructure in various educational institutions of the district.The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned officers to ensure quality education to the students in colleges and schools. He said that efforts need to be taken to increase the literacy rate for which the DDC directed for organizing awareness programmes in the district. The DDC stressed for early completion of under construction buildings and fulfilment of sports infrastructure in educational institutions to keep students engaged in curricular and co-curricular activities.The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Ab Majeed and Chief Education Officer, besides principals, ZEOs, ZEPOs, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and other concerned also participated in it.Meanwhile, the DDC conducted a review of all centrally sponsored schemes of National Health Mission during a separate meeting of health officers here.During the meeting, the functioning of all the health institutions including District Hospital Bandipora, Community Health Centres, PHCs, NTPHCs and sub-centres were reviewed. 

Moreover, work is done of the health institutions was also reviewed in the meeting and it was informed that 102 health institutions are presently functioning in the district where different facilities are being provided to the patients.It was given out that 540580 patients were treated and 21347 patients provided Medicare facilities besides 4326 institutional deliveries registered during the last fiscal in the district. The meeting informed that 4379 ladies were benefited under JSY while as incentives provided to ASHA workers for 4942 cases during the same period. As many as 13182 major and minor surgeries, 1263 USGs, 10533 ECGs, 35486 X-Rays and 239862 Lab Tests were also conducted during the period.The DDC asked the officers to furnish a comprehensive report about the issues like requirement of funds, machinery, staff, water and power supply, land disputes etc so that these issues are resolved. He directed the officers concerned to visit sites and monitor all under-construction works and also ensure punctuality of staff.The DDC also reviewed the functioning of ISM in the district during which he was informed that 19 ISM institutions are functioning in the district. Taking cognizance of the demand of Nodal Officer ISM, the DDC issued instructions for fencing of ISM building at Nadihal Bandipora.Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer and District Nodal Officer ISM also participated in the meeting.
