Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) has termed the statement of Congress President Rahul Gandhi in which he stated that he realized the difficulties of Kashmiris as a cruel joke which tantamount to rubbing salts on wounds of Kashmiris.According to a statement issued to KNS, AIP Party President Engineer Rashid and party candidate from Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency while addressing a number of election rallies at Tral, Pampore and Hazratbal stated that Kashmiris are well aware of the real face of Congress and cannot be hoodwinked by the Congress party anymore.“Congress is the same party which gave birth to Kashmir Dispute . Since 1947, sometimes in the garb of Shimla Agreement, Tashkent Agreement and under the talk of making borders softer the Congress party has in real essence murdered the sentiments of people of Kashmir,” stated Engineer Rashid
Engineer Rashid made it clear that Congress party is the party which did not fulfill the promise of UN sponsored Plebiscite and betrayed nation of Kashmir. “Congress party for gaining the reins of power got innocent Afzal Guru killed .Congress should deeply introspect its polity as it was Congress that arrested Sheikh Abdullah and robbed the autonomy of state. Congress in a deceitful manner got Pakistan pided into two and used Shia/Sunni and Rural/Urban parameters so as to engineer infighting among people of Kashmir, added Engineer Rashid.Engineer Rasshid observed that if Rahul Gandhi is really sincere than he should muster courage to apologize to people of Kashmir and return the mortal remains of Afzal Guru. “If Rahul Gandhi has real feelings towards people of Kashmir and understands the pain of people than he should fulfill all the promises made by congress party and especially all the promises made by Jawaharlal Nehru from time to time to people of Kashmir,” observed Engineer Rashid.
