Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Dr Daljit SIngh Cheema today demanded that appropriate legal action under the anti sedition laws be taken against the AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khehra for his open support to initiatives aimed at dismemberment of the country. The Akali leaders were referring to the reported statements of Mr Khehra  supporting the so-called Referendum  2020 which had seeking a separate homeland for the Sikhs outside India.Addressing mediapersons at the party headquarters, Mr Majithia and   Dr  Cheema here this afternoon, Mr Majithia also wanted  the AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal to break his silence on the suppot lent by his state unit leader Khehra to initiatives aimed at breaking the unity and integrity of the country Mr  Majithia and Mr Cheema ridiculed Khehra’s  attempts to link the so-called Referendum 2020 to genuine Sikh grievances , saying “ Mr Khehra has spent 23 of his 25 years in politics with the Congress party. All this while, which was much closer to the tragic events of 1984 than now, he has stood by the very people who are responsible for discrimination and injustice against the Sikhs for which he pretends to seek relief now.All these years , he stood in the same que and dined on the same table as Jagdish Tytler’s and Sajjan Kumar’s and never once opened his mouth against them.

And now suddenly, on the eve of his aborted trip Canada,he has started talking about these issues to impress his reported sponsors there. Its all about how many dollars per word,” said the two leaders Mr Majithia  and Dr Cheema said that the tragic part is that while such mercenaries always earn a fortune, it is  the innocent Sikh masses who really have to pay a heavy price for  adventurism of theseopportunistic elements.”Talking about Mr Khehra’s references to redress of Sikh grievances like justice  and relief on the massacre of 1984, the army assault on other grievances, the Akali leaders  asked, “ Under which provisions is Mr Khehra seeking this redressal.? Is he seeking it under theReferendum 2020  or under the constitution of India  which he is under  an oath  to defend? Can he secure justice for the Sikhs through such documents as 2020?”The Akali leaders had a word of praise for Mr  H S Phoolka who, he said, at least had the courage of his convictions to choose between his post as Leader of the Opposition on the one hand and seeking justice on 1984 massacre on the other.. “Unlike Mr. Khehra who wants  to wear every cap from an erstwhile loyalist of the anti- Sikh Congress party, to the Leader of the Opposition, to a leader of the anti-national groups on to a late and self styled convert as  seeker of justice for the Sikhs. He wants to run with the hare and hunt with the hound. People have seen through such opportunism and he stands exposed,” said Mr Majithia and Dr Cheema
