Minister for Animal Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a meeting to review the availability of broilers birds and table eggs in Jammu division in view of the upcoming Eid festival.In compliance to the directions issued for adequate supply of table birds and eggs, the department has made available broilers birds and table eggs through mobile sale counters at Janipur, Talab Khattika, Gujjar Nagar, Bhantindi Sunjwan, Gujjar Basti, Belicharana and Satwari mandi at cheaper than market rates.Apart from this, retail sale counters at Satwari Mandi and Belicharana are functional throughout the year where table eggs and birds are made available at cheaper rates.Pertinent to mention that the department has sold 11,46,783 table eggs during 2017-18 at cheaper than market rates.
