District Administration will take a strict action against the people involved in supply and sale of adulterated milk and adulterated milk products under Mission Tandarust Punjab". This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra while presiding over a meeting with the officials of Health Department, Dairy Development Department, Verka Milk Plant Mohali and Dairy Farmers of the District regarding Mission Tandarust Punjab at District Administrative Complex here on Tuesday.Deputy Commissioner said that such products are very harmful for health and to curb this District Administration is starting a special drive against the people involved in supply and sale of adulterated milk and milk products. While giving a warning to the Sweet Shop and Restaurant owners she said that within three days they must ensure the proper working according to the rules and after three days if the checking teams would found any adulterated product then a strict action would be initiated including the sealing of the concerned shops and restaurants. She further said that if the owners of sweet shops and restaurants are not aware about the quality of the milk and milk products being used then the Health Department would help them in the quality check.  

She said," Some people are supplying the adulterated milk from other districts to SAS Nagar and to stop them we are taking concrete steps and district administration will setup special checking points." Deputy Commissioner said that common people could also play a vital role in controlling the activities of the people who are playing with the lives of the people for money only. She appealed that if anybody get any information regarding such people then they could send an email at [email protected]. If possible then they could send related photographs also. Identity of the person would not be disclosed. She also instructed the officials of the Verka Milk Plant, Mohali that they should keep a close eye on the quality of their products. She said Residents Welfare Associations could buy Milk Sampling Kits with the Help of Verka Milk Plant and with the help of these kits people would be able to check the milk they are using.Civil Surgeon Dr. Rita Bharadwaj, District Health Officer Dr. Rajbir Singh Kang, Deputy Manager (Milk Procurement) Verka Milk Plant Darshan Singh, Quality Control In-charge Jatinder Singh, Senior Diary Inspector Sewa Singh, Dairy Farmer Gian Singh, Amit Thakur and Manjit Singh were also present in the meeting.
