Sonia Gandhi’ city visit won’t save Bansal: Sanjay Tandon

The UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi’s visit to Chandigarh will spell a doom for the Congress party.    This was stated by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State President, Sanjay Tandon at a press conference held at party office, Kamlam, sector 33 on Friday.Hitting out at the Congress party, he said, “It will be Sonia Gandhi’s first visit to the city after the Railgate scam. Is she coming to accolade the MP candidate, Pawan Kumar Bansal who was involved in various corruption cases? I want to ask Sonia why she allotted the ticket to scam tainted Bansal. She should also shed light on why Bansal resigned from the Union Railways ministry if he was clean. Her visit would confirm that Congress is supporting the corruption in the country”.

In the presence of media, the members of Republican Party of India (RPI) joined the BJP. The party pledged its support to BJP under the leadership of the Election In-charge, Rajkumar Guar and the party’s President, Chandigarh, Anand Verma. RPI is supporting the NDA in its entirety.The BJP, state President, Chandigarh warmly welcomed the support of the Republican Party of India in favour of BJP’s MP candidate, Kirron Kher for Chandigarh Parliamentary seat.The Congress party has anticipated its defeat in the Lok Sabha Elections-2014 and that is why it has stooped to violence now to stop the positive wave of the BJP. Stating this, Sanjay Tandon informed that congress party workers assaulted BJP’s workers when they were campaigning in sector 56.“The congress workers who are not able to give satisfactory answers to the questions being raised by the BJP are now resorting to violence. I will urge to the Chandigarh administration and Police to look into the matter so that polling could take place peacefully in Chandigarh”, Tandon added.

Tandon said that there was an unstoppable wave of the BJP across the country and the party which had set a mission of securing 272 plus seats was now sure to achieve the target of 300 seats.Giving the details on the poll campaigning, Tandon said, “After the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi in the city the party has gained momentum in the political battle here. Many heavyweights of other political parties are joining the BJP. You will also get the news of the senior leader of AAP, Chandigarh joining our party very soon. Many residents welfare association, societies, social welfare organizations, UT employees, tenants association and ex-servicemen have joined the party. Now our poll-campaign has reached to the booth level and door-to-door canvassing is strengthening the party”. Sharing notes on the response of various poll campaigns, he said, “We have tried to know the pulse of the city residents through our poll campaigns and our findings says that it would be a clean sweep for Kirron Kher in the city. AAP and Congress party will fight with each for the second slot”.  On this occasion, the Vice-president, Raghubir Lal Arora, General Secretary, Chandershekhar, Spokespersons, Kailash Jain, Dhirender Tayal, Convener, Ravinder Pathania and Co-conveners, Surinder Sood and Shashank Bhandari were present.
