Shiromani Akali Dal resident Sukhbir Singh Badal said here today thatSikhs living in Haryana were an integral and proud part of the Akali mainstream and the party had a special regard for their sentiments.Badal warned the Congress party against any attempt to weaken the Sikhs. “ Let me tell them in the clearest possible terms. Do not mess with the internal affairs of any community, especially the religious affairs of the Sikhs” Mr.Badal , who had long and cordial meeting with some Akali leaders from Haryana, including Sardar Jagdish Singh jhinda, S. Amarjit Singh Mangi, S. Avtar Singh Chaku and S. Joga Singh Yamuna Nagar, said that the SAD had a special regard fr the sentiments of the Haryana Sikh leaders. Mr. Badal listend to these leaders for over an hour and assured them that the party would sit them and find a solution to any issue concerning their local problems .
“We are one family and as family, we will find an amicable solution to everything including the issues brought before me by the Haryana Sikh leaders. They also realize that they are a part of a larger Panthic family and fully honour the traditions, pride and time-honoured conventions of the Panthic institutions gained through making countless sacrifices. There is no scope for any pision or weakening of the spiritual and social strength of the Sikh community,” said Mr. Badal .The SAD chief said that the party took a special and deeppride in the contribution of the Sikhs living in Haryana towards the Sikh mainstream. “As a party that has always articulated the religious aspirations of the Sikhs, the SAD holds our brethren in Haryana especially dear and will always bestow honour on them befitting their great role in the past and the present.”
