One of the pertinent questions that have been thrown up in current times is issues in the judiciary. In the session that had a former additional solicitor general and a present one, issues that have marred the judiciary, including the accusation of corruption, the press conference of the judges and the delay in appointment of judges came up.According to Indira Jaising, advocate with the Supreme Court of India, corruption takes many shapes. Look behind the curtain to the relationship between the executive and the judiciary and who is corrupting whom. However, Pinky Anand, Additional Solicitor General of India was of the view that the Supreme Court is incorruptible. We have to learn to stand by the institution, she said. The press conference conducted by the judges is unprecedented. Work is going on the issues that have been raised. Jaising was of the view that a lot depends on who you are inducting into the judiciary. “I have said that the Supreme Court is sitting on a volcano. Judiciary is in the dock in the eyes of the Janta Ka Adaalat,” she said. Without a free press and an independent judiciary, we are all lost, Jaising added. Indira and I are working together for several matters including the matter of right of women concerns, we do work together in the cause of justice, said Pinky Anand. Why is the government sitting on Judge Joseph's appointment from the past 6 months? This issue is being politicized, said Indira Jaising
