Solan , 25 Feb 2018

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a gathering at Circuit House in Solan today,  said that  time has come to bid farewell to cap politics in the state. In Himachal, political loyalties were denoted by the colour of caps. Former chief minister and his supporters use to wear a green band cap and were considered as having congress ideology whereas the BJP leaders and supporters adorned a maroon band cap. Over the years these two colours had come to symbolise the two different political alignments, said the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said he won't  indulge himself  in cap politics adding that he had stop wearing the cap thereby putting an end to cap politics said that he prefers the caps as inseparable part of culture of Himachal Pradesh and not as a symbol of regional divide of upper and lower Himachal as was considered during the congress regime. He said that the budget was in the corner and after the budget session will be over the congress will itself see the working of government

He said that the days of those serving for an individual and not for the government were over. The past is not to be recalled, he said as whatever had happened in previous Government was the worst period of intolerance and vendetta politics  adding that  his government has no place for vendetta  but those who would be wrong anywhere while discharging their duties won't be spared. The Chief Minister said that government of tired and  retired was no more as the present BJP government would  work overall development of the State and welfare of people not for five years  but for next 20 years.Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajeev Saizal, while speaking on the occasion welcomed the Chief Minister and focused his speech  on exploitation of tourism potential in the State.Member Parliament Shri Virendra Kashyap, MLA Shri Parminder Singh (Pammi), ex minister Shri Mahinder Nath Sofat, former MLAs Shri Govind Ram and Shri K.L.
