District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today conducted an extensive tour of Unisoo Wohipora, Qalamabad, Batagund, Hangah areas and visited various places of Langate constituency.While inspecting Unisoo-Khuroo road, the DDC directed the PMGSY authorities to take immediate steps for augmenting manpower and machinery on the road for ensuring its early completion. During the inspection of Wahipora water supply scheme, he directed the concerned authorities to rectify deficiencies observed in the scheme.The DDC also inspected 12 km CRF road Chountipora to Budbug, and directed Exen R&B to macadamize eight km of the road by next month and ensure the upgradation by next year.He also directed the Rural Development Department for early completion of the overhead bridge near Government Higher secondary School Qalamabad. He further instructed the executing authorities to complete Qalamabad PHC at an earliest.Inspecting ongoing work on auditorium Hangah, the DDC instructed the concerned to expedite the work for ensuring completion May this year. The DDC also inspected the works executed under different schemes of RDD at Hangah, Budgund, Qalamabad expressed satisfaction over the quality of works being executed.During the visit, members of civil society and representatives of several traders’ associations of the area called on the DDC and apprised him of their concerns about development in the area. The DDC assured the general public all kinds of support and issued on-spot instructions for redress of various concerns raised on the occasion.Officers among others CMO Kupwara, ACD Kupwara, Exen R&B Division Handwara accompanied DDC during his tour.
