Health & Family Welfare Minister  Vipin Singh Parmar directed concerned departments to expedite the construction and maintenance work of various health institutions in the State. He said that all ongoing projects should be completed in a time bound manner and for any delay, strict action would be taken.He was presiding over a high level meeting to review the construction, expansion and maintenance of health institutions in the State, on Saturday late evening. On the occasion the officers of Health Department gave a detailed overview of health services and ongoing projects.Minister was apprised that site had been selected for 50 bedded hospital at Bilaspur and Rs. 6 crore were also released. The construction of Rs. 40 crore 200 bedded hospital in Tanda  would be undertaken soon for which the Minister asked the concerned authorities for early starting the work. Site also has been selected for 100 beds hospital alongwith an Administrative Block at Kullu and Rs. 20 crore would be spent.   50 bedded hospital would be completed within one and half year in Solan for which Rs. 2 crore has been released to BSNL.

Health Minister while reviewing Program Implementation Plan (PIP) under National Health Mission stressed upon the need to organize specialized multipurpose camps at Panchayat level so that rural people could be made aware of the various health services. He also asked the department to submit report of such camps organized during last one year. He said such camp would also be organized to the MLAs in near future. He stressed upon the need to give appropriate attention on IEC activities. He said Rs. 539 crore proposal has been submitted to Government of India (GoI) for approval under PIP which was Rs. 430 crore during last fiscal.Health Minister was concerned over the declined health indicators during last few years. He stressed upon the need of concerted efforts for bringing a rapid improvement in health sector.He said the government had recently given approval for filling up the 200 posts of Doctors besides 6 Radio Therapists to operationalize a modern machine for the treatment of cancer patients in Tanda Hospital.Minister asked the officers to show their achievement on ground reality instead of boasting of complex figures.Principal Secretary Health Prabodh Saxena asked the Officers for proper utilization of funds under various components of NHM and also to submit complete proposals to GoI in a time bound manner.
