The tableau depicted Kee Monastery, a famous Buddhist Monastery in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, located at an altitude of 4,166 meters above sea level. It was established in the 11th century and it still houses ancient Buddhist scrolls and paintings. A large number of Buddhist monks, nuns, and lamas live in this religious training center to receive their religious education.Agriculture & Tribal Development Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda and Secretary (AR) Dr. Purnima Chauhan were also present during the Republic Day function at New Delhi.
