Syed Altaf Bukhari directs installation of dewatering pump near Khidmat Press at Regal

‘Area being business hub, city centre to be developed on modern lines’

The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today announced that a Dewatering Pump Station will be installed near Khidmat Press in Regal Lane, here which was earlier proposed at Saddar Court.The pump could not be installed at Saddar Court premises as the site has been declared as a heritage site. Bukhari visited the Regal Lane today and took firsthand appraisal of the area where the pump would be installed. He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, SMC Commissioner, Riyaz Wani and other concerned officials. On the occasion, Bukhari directed the SMC to demarcate the land and start work for the installation of dewatering pump which will serve the areas from Sher-i-Kashmir Park to Amira Kadal. He said the dewatering pump should be installed in such a way in keeping with the concerns of locals.The Minister also visited Regal’s adjoining areas and instructed the officials to install street lights and also promised the macadamization of the damaged roads. He said the area being the city centre and business hub is the focus of the Government and all possible facilities and amenities would be ensured in the area.
