The Water Supply and Sanitation Minister, Punjab Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa today assured the pump operators working in the department to consider their legitimate demands sympathetically. The delegation of Water Supply and Sanitation Employees Union today met Water Supply & Sanitation Minister to submit a memorandum regarding their demands here today. The Minister during the meeting directed the senior officers of the department to consider the demands sympathetically and bring a positive solution to the genuine demands.On this occasion, Mr. Bajwa directed the officials and employees of the department to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water in the villages. He said that if any water-pump stops working due some electric or technical fault, then these water pumps should be immediately repaired and water supply should be restored immediately. He further said that uninterrupted drinking water supply must be ensured.On this occasion, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur Talwar, Secretary, briefed about the steps being taken by the department to implement 10-hour uninterrupted water supply scheme in the villages. He said that 1497 villages have already been connected with the 10 hour water supply scheme so far and by the end of this year this scheme would be operational in 2500 villages.Amongst others present on the occasion included Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur Talwar Secretary, Mr. Ashwani Kumar HoD, Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Bahia OSD, Mr. A.K Kalsi Chief Engineer Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq Director Sanitation, Mr. S.K. K Jain Chief Engineer, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Chief Engineer, Mr. Harstadinder Pal Singh Dhillon SE and other officials of the department.
