Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today attended a function organised by the locals to celebrate Janmashtami here at R.S Pura.
Member Legislative Assembly R S Pura Dr Gagan Bhagat was also present on the occasion.Addressing the people, Deputy Chief Minister said the day marks the birth of Lord Krishna and is celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami across the country. He said such occasions should be celebrated by involving people from all faiths as it spreads the message of love, peace and mutual co-existence in the society.He lauded the efforts of the organisers and called upon the people to follow the path shown by Lord Krishna adding Bhagwad Geeta has shown the world a righteous path of living a spiritual life dedicated to service of mankind.Later Deputy Chief Minister, along with local youths, went round R S Pura and wished the people on the auspicious occasion.He also highlighted the Prime Minister’s initiatives and appealed the people to extend their support towards realising the dream of New India.
