District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla today chaired a meeting of district officers to discuss the arrangements for celebration of Independence Day 2017.ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, ACR Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Bhat, CEO Ganderbal, CMO Ganderbal, Army Officers, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, ACD , Officers of IRP, Traffic Police, District Youth Services and Sports, Besides Principals of Government Colleges were also present in the meeting.Threadbare discussions were held regarding arrangements of seating, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, First-Aid, PAS, deployment of buses and fire-tenders etc.
After discussing the arrangements threadbare, it was decided that the main function will be held in the Madr-e-Meherbaan Stadium Ganderbal where the VIP would unfurl the National Flag and take salute from the march past contingents comprising Jammu and Kashmir Police, IRP, CRPF, NCC and school children.The DDC directed the engineers of R&B, PHE and PDD to ensure effective arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function.The Executive Officer, Municipality was asked for proper cleanliness of Madre-e-Meherban Stadium and town well in advance and Chief Medical Officer for deployment of mobile van with staff and medicines at function’s site.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the officers of various departments to celebrate the function with patriotic spirit, make close rapport and coordinate between different agencies in order to make the National function a grand success.He also called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present on the day of function.
