The District Development Commissioner Ganderbal today chaired an officers meeting to review the progress of Education, Youth Services & Sports and Fisheries Departments.The DDC took a comprehensive stock of educational scenario and functioning of various educational institutions in the district. DDC emphasized on the need of imparting better quality education to the students.The DDC termed the students as future of the district and the State and added that teachers should focus on overall personality development of students so that they can excel in every field.Directing the Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal for ensuring attendance of teachers and students in the schools, the DDC asked him to stop the salary of employees who remained absent from their duties. He also directed to constitute a Monitoring Committee to supervise the attendance in schools of the District.

Calling for focused attention on educational and extra-curricular activities, the DDC Ganderbal instructed the Education and Youth Services & Sports Department to make serious endeavor for ensuring bright future for the budding youth of the district.The DDC directed the concerned to conduct half marathon to highlight Drug De-Addiction and other social evils, spreading the message to the youngsters that they should keep themselves healthy and energetic and say no to drugs.The meeting was informed that the Fisheries Department established 102 private ponds under RKVY and blue revolution scheme. Besides, 50 bicycles were provided to fishermen of the district.Chief Planning Officer Ganderbal, Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, District Youth Service & Sports Officer, Ganderbal, Assistant Director Fisheries, Zonal Education Officer and other concerned attended the meeting.
