Development Projects Worth 2500 Crore Got Sanctioned: Joshi

Under the Urban Infrastructure & Governance scheme, 51 projects worth Rs.2500 crore have been got sanctioned within a short span of 4 months by the Local Bodies department and 9 other projects worth Rs.663 crore are under process of sanctioning.It was disclosed by Anil joshi, Minister for Local Govt. Minister while reviewing the working of the department. Mr. Joshi informed that these huge project sanctioning has only been possible with the active role of the officers and staff of his department and he congratulated them for their efforts.

These projects include extension and augmentation of water supply scheme at Ludhiana, Amritsar Phase-II, and procurement of buses under BRTS system at Amritsar, Jalandhar & Patiala, solid waste management in Ludhiana, Bus Rapid Transit system at Amritsar, sewerage system in some parts of the holy city of Amritsar and re-development & beautification of inner circular road around the walled city. Besides, sewerage and water supply projects involving major 37 towns of the state have been approved. Joshi appealed to the officers and staff of the department to work in a honest and transparent manner for gaining the confidence of the general public in the development policies of the BJP-Akali government.
