Senior IAS officer Varun Roojam today formally assumed the charge as Director Information and Public Relations, Punjab at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh. Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that Mr. Varun Roojam is an IAS officer of 2004 batch. Before the present assignment of Director Information and Public Relation he had rendered his services as Deputy Commissioner in District Mukatsar, SAS Nagar Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Patiala. He further said that Mr. Roojam did Bachelor of Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He belonged to an educated family of the region. His father Mr. L.R. Roojam is a distinguished legal luminary who retired from the post of District and Sessions Judge in the year 2004. After retirement Mr. L.R. Roojam has also served in the Punjab State Human Rights Commission as a member from the year 2009 to 2014.
