DDC Kulgam chairs DLRC meeting

District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRC) meeting under District Credit Action Plan 2016-17 to review performance of various financial institutions of the district.The meeting was briefed about the achievements made under district Credit Action Plan by December 2016 and it was said that Rs 1117.9 crore  have been deposited in banks during the 3rd quarter of financial year 2016-17. It was said that against the national target of 40%, the banks have disbursed 82.85% of the total credit in priority sectors. Further, a percentage of 70.44% in terms of CD ratio has been achieved by December, 2016.It was given out that under Agriculture and allied sectors, an advancement of Rs 448. 33 crore amounting to 58.52% of the total credit advances to agriculture sector was made, thereby exceeding the national target of 18%. To strengthen banking process and increase reach out to people, it was said that J&K Bank is going to open five new branches in the district, while as sanction 11 more branches is under process.

On the occasion, the DDC exhorted the bankers to explore the possibility of opening more bank branches in tourist and rural areas of the district and sanction approved sponsored on priority.He sought support of the banks operating in the district in employment creation in different sectors like Handicrafts, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Fisheries etc by liasoning with the concerned Departments.For the successful implementation of different security schemes, Labour, Social Welfare and Employment Departments have been directed to sponsor cases so that organized, identified and underprivileged  beneficiaries are covered in schemes like MUDRA, PMJJBY, PMSBY, etc for which banks have been asked for cooperation.Director RSETI was directed to introduce training course in packaging, grading, waxing, cardboard making, etc so as to impart job oriented skills among youth.Director RSETI, AD Planning, District heads of various Departments, District Lead Bank Manager, Representatives from RBI, NABARD and other financial institutions of the district attended the meeting.
