The Bangalore School Presents Mesmerizing Hour-Long Annual Student’s Showcase - Sounds of Music

The annual student showcase of The Bangalore School, Whitefield was an hour-long performance by 125 students that left parents and guests in awe of the children’s talents. Hosted at the MLR Convention Hall, this performance is a culmination of 4 streams of arts that are inculcated into the students’ curriculum.Right from the start of the academic year, music, to which is choreographed original dances is taught and rehearsed. Performing arts are shaped into plays which are supported in the form of props from the art students. This year, with Sounds of Music as the theme, the show was a blend of Bollywood and Kollywood music, along with dances, plays and a display of percussion sounds. In the five years of its operations, The Bangalore School has won several awards and recently has been ranked as number one preschool under the preschool category by Education Today.Speaking on the immense work that went into the creation of this showcase, Ms Usha Iyer, director of The Bangalore School says, “The show was the fruit of a long year of hard work from the teachers and students. Every one of our students was on stage and felicitated as well. This added to their joy of being a part of such a large performance. Parents and students had the opportunity to capture memories at the photo booth organized outside the hall. We believe in incorporating the arts into our curriculum and work on the strong points of each student. Their role in the show is based on their specific interests”.
Speaking on the grooming of students for a better country, Shri N A Haris, MLA, Shantinagar Constituency and the Chief Guest at the showcase said, “The show was a brilliant one and testimony to what good parenting and teaching can result in. Parenting today needs to be of the right kind to groom children to be better citizens of India. They are born into a free India and should not take this freedom for granted”. Shri Haris awarded all the graduates and congratulated each one personally.Mrs Kalpana Mohan, Academic Director of PNC Cognitio, was the guest of honour and awarded prizes to the children. In her address, she said, “It is important for parents to recognize the strengths of their children and place them in a similar pedagogy as they get into higher classes. Children should be encouraged according to their interests and an education system that suits them the best has to be selected”.Mr Sharada Prasad, Chairman of Shri Vani School and an advisory board member of The Bangalore School wished school the best for their 5th annual day .Speaking on the performance and pride in watching the children perform, Mr.Abhilash Matlapudi, a parent  said, “I was amazed at how confident my child was on stage and the flawless delivery of dialogues. Watching the well-choreographed dances and the seamless hour long performance was a matter of pride in our children and amazement”.
