Another school burnt down in Kupwara

Entire school record, computer lab gutted

Unidentified persons have burnt down a school in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials told news agency GNS Friday.They said that the fire erupted in boys High school Radbugh during intervening night of 26/27 January and gutted entire administrative block, housing entire school record and computer lab.The locals said that the fire tenders could not reach the spot due to closure of all link roads towards the school due to heavy snowfall in the area.Station House Officer (SHO) Drugmulla Police Post, Zahoor Ahmad told GNS that a case under FIR No 18/2017 under section 436 was registered  and investigations have been taken up."The cause of fire is being ascertained and all angles would be looked into to identify those behind this terrible incident", SHO said.Last year nearly three dozen schools were burnt down in different parts of the valley following which Jammu and Kashmir High Court took the suo-motto cognizance and directed all the authorities to ensure that no school is burnt down in the valley.
