Rs 619.67 cr earmarked for strengthening power infrastructure under DDUGJY: Dr. Nirmal Singh

Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that Jammu and Kashmir has received Rs 619.67 Crore under Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gramin Joyti Yojana (DDUGJY) for strengthening of infrastructure in power sector and electrification of un-electrified households in rural areas.Replying to a question by MLA Rajeev Sharma, Dr Singh said the execution of works under the scheme would be taken up after completion of tendering process, which has already been started."The works shall be taken up for execution after completion of bidding process and awarding of contracts," Dy CM told the house. He also furnished the details of funds sanctioned for 21 districts of the state under DDUGJY.The Dy CM said DPR amounting to Rs 330.45 lakhs for setting up a new transformer repair workshop at Akhnoor has been framed and submitted for obtaining Techno Economic Clearance (TEC).“The land for the workshop has been identified in Receiving Station Tanda. The work is not sanctioned under any programme/scheme at present. However issue has been taken up with the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department for providing requisite funds as additionality during the current financial year," he said.

Regarding the completion of receiving station Sungal-Sumah, the Deputy CM said the project has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 207.13 lakh under REC loan.He said against the release of Rs 41.73 lakh for the project, during 2015-16, an amount of Rs 12.15 lakh was incurred on the procurement of material for the said Receiving Station adding the balance amount of Rs 29.58 lakh could not be utilized and has been revalidated in December 2016 for its utilization during current financial year. He said the tenders for the civil works have been invited and the work shall start after the bidding process is completed.Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister informed the house that the land for the receiving station at Sunail has been identified and the case of acquisition of land is under process with SDM-Akhnoor.MLA Yawar Dillawar Mir and MLA Chowdhary Mohammad Akram raised supplementary questions.
