The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara,G. M Dar today convened a meeting of officers of district administration, Police and other security agency to review the action taken report regarding the arrangements of forthcoming Republic day celebrations. On the occasion, it was given out that the main function shall be held at DPL Kupwara with Shahnai Waadan at 9 AM followed by flag hoisting by the Chief Guest at 10:05 AM. The March past will be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, F&ES, Home Guard, besides students of various educational institutions.Culture programmes will also be presented by Department of Education, Youth Service & Sports to mark the occasion.The Deputy Commissioner directed all the functionaries to ensure all arrangements are put in place for smooth and peaceful Republic Day celebrations in the district. The R&B, MED and Municipality authorities were directed to keep men and machinery available in case of snow fall to clear the venue, besides roads leading to venue.The meeting also constitutes a Committee comprises ADC, ACR and CPO to oversee the preparedness andThe Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara/Handwara, officers of district administration, Police and other Security agencies attended the meeting.Meanwhile the SDM Karnah today convened a meeting of officer of Tehsil administration to review the arrangements put in place for enseing Republic day at Tangdhar. The arrangements including power, water supply, refreshment, transport, PAS and seating arrangements were finalized on the occasion.
