Elderly persons associated with Pensioners Welfare Association Wednesday staged a protest against the plight of Kashmiri’s who according to the Association are victimized for taking part in the long running unrest. The protest was led by former trader union leader and Pensioners Association president Sampat Prakash.“We assembled here (Press Enclave Srinagar) to appeal the state and centre governments both for accelerating the process of rebuilding measures in the aftermath of the months of long protests in the state beside initiating a structured dialogue with the state-holders so as to find an amicable solution to the decades old Kashmir problem,” Prakash told news agency CNS.The Association earnestly appeals to the authorities to initiate granting ex-gratia relief to the victims’ families who have either lost their kiths and kins or whose family members have gone blind.  “We have been protesting here to express our solidarity with thousands of people consisting mostly the youth of the Valley who were either arrested arbitrarily under draconian laws or put to face adversities for no fault of theirs,” he said.
