Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh will soon be meeting the Punjab realtors and depot holders, who have sought the Congress support to free them from the shackles of the Badals and Majithia misrule. In a statement issued here, Captain Amarinder Singh promised to address their problems and do whatever possible, within the ambit of the law, to alleviate their sufferings.A delegation of Punjab realtors, under the banner of the Punjab Colonisers & Property Dealers Association (Regd), had met Patiala MLA Maharani Preneet Kaur a couple of days back to urge her intervention in resolving their problems and promoting their welfare. Accusing the Badal father-son duo, as well as Bikramjit Singh Majithia, of cheating and looting the real estate sector, they sought from her an assurance on the regularization of colonies to revive the realty segment.

At another meeting, a delegation of depot holders of the state told Preneet that they had lost whatever little commission they had been getting as a result of the connivance between the Panches/Sarpanches in connivance with the Inspectorate staff of the Food & Supplies Department. The depot holders demanded a fixed monthly allowance, between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, since the National Food Security Act does not provide for a salary for depot holders.Captain Amarinder said that once back in power, he would find legal solutions to the problems of both, the realtors and the depot holders, ensuring that their business/work is revived. He reiterated that he was committed to bringing the smiles back on the faces of all sections of Punjab’s populace and to bringing back on track the industries and other businesses that have been forced to shut down under the Badal misrule.
