The Transport Societies associated with Ambuja Cements Limited Darlaghat in district Solan have urged Smt. Pratibha Singh, Member of Parliament to intervene in the matter of resumption of mining operations of Ambuja Cements as thousands of truck operators and local workers were facing threat of livelihood due to stoppage of mining and production of clinker. In a letter written to Smt. Pratibha Singh, these societies have apprised her that Ambuja Cements Limited has stopped mining of limestone since last one week after receiving a notice from Ministry of Environment and Forests. This has created a panic amongst all the truck owners and local workers and if the production does not start immediately they will not be able to meet the both ends.

They have urged the Member of Parliament to take up this matter with the Central Government to allow the resumption of mining operations till the proposal sent by the State Government is considered by the Committee of National Board of Wildlife.
