The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today asked the Rural Development Department (RDD) to clear all liabilities under Swachh Bharat Mission.The Committee which met here, under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mian Altaf Ahmad   discussed and examined the CAG  Audit para No. 3.25 (Total Sanitation Campaign) related to the Rural Development Department besides functioning of the department.Legislators, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Javid Mustaffa Mir, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Rajesh Gupta, R. S. Pathania and Mohammad Khursheed Alam attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the Committee fruitful and result oriented.The Committee directed the RDD authorities to clear all the liabilities under Swachh Bharat Mission, PMAY and MGNAREGA. The Committee gave some suggestions regarding proper implementation of these central sponsored schemes.

Secretary, Rural Development, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi briefed the Committee about the CAG Audit para and functioning of the department through power point presentation. Accountant General Audit, H. Abbas also briefed the Committee about the contents of CAG Audit related to the department.Director Rural Sanitation also briefed the Committee about the activities and objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission and progress made in the state for strengthening the campaign.The Chairman directed the department to make extra efforts to achieve the goals and targets of Swachh Bharat Mission. He directed to the concerned authorities to inform the local legislators about the activities   for effective implementation and ensure that the genuine beneficiaries get the benefits.The Committee dropped some Audit paras related to the Rural RD department after brief discussion.Among others, Directors, Panchayat Raj, RDD Kashmir, RDD Jammu, Director Finance Department of RD&PR besides other senior officers of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
