A meeting of the Committee on Government Assurances of Legislative Assembly was held under the chairmanship of MLA Vikar Rasool Wani.Javaid Hassan Baig, Mohammad Abass Wani, Kamal Verma and Dina Nath Bhagat attended the meeting. The members gave their suggestions for early fulfilment of pending Government Assurances.The Committee has asked MLAs who had raised questions during proceedings of the Assembly and got written assurances from the Government to submit the same before the Committee so that it can be pursued for proper redressal.Earlier, Deputy Secretary Assembly Secretariat briefed the Committee members about the status of previous committee reports regarding the pending Assurances pertaining to different departments. The members stressed for resolution of all pending issues and making the Committee more effective.The Committee decided to call officers of PHE and Flood Control Departments along with relevant records at its next meeting scheduled at Jammu. The committee also directed the concerned officers of Assembly Secretariat to furnish replies to the Committee regarding pending Assurances so that effective steps would be initiated in this regard. Among others, senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
