Indo Global Colleges  organized  Seminar on Youth and Peace Building by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh in collaboration with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community India .Sukhdev Singla Chairman Indo Global Colleges  while extending a warm welcome to the galaxy of learned speakers present in the seminar said that we have  very fragile environment around us and youth can play a very positive role in peace building initiatives not just in India but globally .Over 250 students from various states like Sikkim, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Punjab and Haryana participated in the Seminar. Stanzin Dawa, Regional Director briefed the audience about the seminar. He said that 60% of the population is under age of 35 which gives a tremendous potential of producing HR which is competent, peaceful and honest. The competent HR can prove to be an asset of the organization. In order to ensure youth is moving forward in the right direction we need to not only educate them but also make them compassionate so that they are not just the beneficiaries but also contributors to the peace building process.

Dr. Devendra Agochiya, Former Director, Youth Division, Commonwealth Secretariat, London was keynote speaker and focused on the role of youth in the peace building process. He said that youth has a very significant and distinct role to play to develop an environment of harmony. After explaining the concepts of negative peace, positive peace, structural violence, physical violence and verbal violence, he told that we need to create a will among youth to act as ambassadors for peace by engaging them meaningfully, capacity building, developing capsules/modules in the schools and colleges to promote values which are secular and connecting them to the communities so that the trust deficit between the communities and the young people can be minimized. Mr. Shiraz Ahmed, Additional Chief Secretary, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community delivered an expert talk in which he focused on the principles which can create an environment of peace around us. These principles are love for humanity, sacrifice for others, respect for all religions, avoid violence of all kinds and loyalty for the nation. The floor was opened for questions after panel discussion in which the students asked many questions related to peace.
