Cross LoC trade resumes, traders welcome the move

The cross LoC trade between the divided parts of Kashmir was Tuesday resumed after remaining suspended for more than two months.Sources disclosed to KNS that at the instance and constant persuasion of Jammu & Kashmir Government the cross LoC trade was resumed as the traders of Kashmir valley were pressing hard for the resumption of the cross border trader with the Pak Administered Kashmir (PaK).When contacted Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Shalinder Kumar told KNS that the transportation of goods from the either sides of Kashmir run four time a week was suspended on July 12 in view of the prevailing situation in valley. 

Sources said “12 vehicles loaded with the cloth and chilly crossed over to Pak Administered Kashmir (PaK) but only one vehicle loaded with clothes cross over from the other side of Kashmir to this side”.A group of traders on conditions of anonymity told KNS “The resumption of cross LoC trade is encouraging for the traders in Kashmir as the pending payments could not be cleared for last two and a half months. The trade between the two parts of Kashmir allowed four times a week should continue uninterrupted as the traders in valley have suffered huge losses during the current unrest in valley”.
