Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo, visited Kargil meeting deputations and interacting with civil society members of the area. He also attended a one-day seminar on ‘Cross LoC Trade CBM’s, a case of Ladakh Region’ organized by Central University of Jammu in Kargil. The seminar discussed various suggestions of all stake holders to policy measures for the State Government to encourage and promote people to people contact across the divided region of the State.Later the Advisor met several deputations from different areas of Batalik sector, who projected several demands like up-gradation of school to high school and other public issues. The Advisor assured early redressal of their demands in a time bound manner.All Kargil Travel Traders’s Association also met Prof. Mattoo requesting waiving off interest on bank loans keeping in view turmoil in valley, as most of the Kargil hotels are totally dependent on inflow of tourists from valley.The Advisor also visited upper Hunderman Brok and Garkon Villages, where he interacted with locals and gave a patient hearing to their demands.
