Condemning the terror attack in Uri Sector Jammu and Kashmir, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that country was having a decisive Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, who would give a befitting reply to such anti-national activities.Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Lambi assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that that any attack on unity and integrity of the nation should be given an apt reply. He said that the NDA government at centre was fully committed to uphold the sovereignty of the country and protect our borders by foiling any such attack. Mr. Badal said that such incidents must be dealt with a heavy hand so as to avoid any threat to unity and integrity of the nation. Asked to comment on the possibility of formation of new front by former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Mr. Sucha Singh Chottepur, the Chief Minister said that in the poll season many such fronts would mushroom up in the state. However, he said that these fronts would hardly have any impact on state’s polity as the wise people of state would out rightly reject such fronts.

Mr. Badal said that people of the state don’t rely on such leaders who have ditched their mother party for satiating their lust for power.Earlier addressing public gatherings during Sangat Darshan in village Haakuwala, Fatta Khera, Warring Khera, Fatuhiwala, Singhewala, Dhaani Singhewala, Mithdi Budgir and others, the Chief Minister, while listing the major initiatives taken by the state government, said that the SAD-BJP alliance government has supplied free power to the farmers of the state at a cost of Rs 50000 crore in last ten years to bail them out from agrarian crisis. He further said that Punjab was the only state in the country to provide Atta-Dal scheme to the weaker sections adding that it was also the only state to ensure free treatment for fatal diseases like Cancer and Hepatitis C. Mr. Badal said that the state government has started first of its kind scheme to provide interest free crop loans worth Rs 50000 to the farmers. He further said that in another historic decision it has been decided that all the farmers would be provided a health insurance cover of Rs.50,000 and an insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or incapacitation of head of family.

Highlighting the significance of Sangat Darshan program, the Chief Minister said that it was a flagship program of his government from the first day ever since he assumed the office. He said that this pro-people program finds no parallel across the country as no other Chief Minister bothers to spare so much time for the people by solving their problems at their doorsteps. Mr. Badal said that this program helps in quick resolution of public problems on one hand besides adjudging the performance of the government officers/ officials on the other. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chairman Punjab Agro Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali, District Coordinator Jathedar Avtar Singh Vanwala, Chairman Mr. Tejinder Singh Middukhera, Mr. Gurbakshish Singh Middukhera, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sumit Jaranghal and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh.
