Babbehali Takes Stock Of Rabbi Sowing Arrangements

 Chief Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture  Gurbachan Singh Babbehali has assured the farmers that there would be no shortage of fertilizers and other inputs during the sowing of ensuing Rabi crop in the state. Disclosing this here today while taking stock of the progress of the ongoing schemes of Agriculture department and sowing arrangements for Rabi crop,  Babbehali said that the state government under the progressive guidelines of S. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister Punjab was committed towards the welfare of the farming community and adequate steps have been taken to provide best inputs to them for better yield. The state government was also in constant touch with the government of India on timely allocation of adequate supply of inputs for their crops. The state government has also chalked out a strategy to penalize the fertilizer dealers and companies by suggesting a few amendments in the existing law so that they supply quality products to the farmers. He has also directed the officers to organize awareness camps at the district and block level so that the farmers all over the state could get the correct knowledge of the schemes and programmes especially launched by for the farmers by the government. Referring to the sowing of nutritive wheat without wheat rust wheat in the semi hilly areas,  Babbehali said that the best quality subsidized seeds would be made available to the farmers and the ongoing research work to get better seeds would be strengthened and streamlined in order to get high yielding produce. He expressed satisfaction over the latest techniques in paddy cultivation in the state. The process of filling of the vacant posts in the department was already in progress and the appointment orders to the selected candidate would be given once the formalities were over.  Dr. Mangal Singh Sandhu, Director Agriculture apprised the CPS of the problems being faced by the department and steps taken by the department while implementing the crop persification in the state. The director also explained at length the arrangements made by the department for the sowing of rabbi crop.
