Mehbooba Mufti Off to Delhi for meeting PM Narendra Modi

Unrest, dialogue, role of forces to dominate discussions

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Friday left for Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the ongoing unrest in Kashmir and discuss the demands of a dialogue with separatist leadership and Pakistan and the withdrawal of deadly lethal weapons like pellet guns used in crowd control policing in Kashmir.Top sources while disclosing this to KNS revealed that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday morning to discuss the causes of current unrest in Kashmir and the pressing demands of the mainstream opposition for immediate initiation of dialogue with the separatist leadership and the Government Pakistan. So for Prime Minister and other top central leaders including Home Minister Rajnath Singh are accusing both the separatist leadership and the Government of Pakistan of fueling the current unrest in Kashmir. 

The other issues likely to dominate the discussions of the Chief Minister with the Prime Minister include demands for withdrawal of deadly lethal weapons like pellet guns and the removal of central forces from government run schools recently occupied by them.The meeting of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with the Prime Minister comes after the recent meeting of Omar Abdullah led delegation of state’s mainstream opposition leaders with the Prime Minister and the recent two day visit of the Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Srinagar. It may be recalled here that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had to face angry media during a crowded press conference in presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh. (KNS)
