As part of the Bharatiya Janta Party’s “70 Saal Azadi – Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani” programme, Union Minister of State for Law & Justice, Electronics & IT, Government of India, Mr PP Chaudhary today offered floral tributes to our great freedom fighters, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and Shaheed Sukhdev at their native places, village Sarabha and Mohalla Naughara, respectively.While interacting with residents of Sarabha village, here today, Mr PP Chaudhary said that “70 Saal Azadi – Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani” programme has been launched by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi in the country and is aimed at inculcating the spirit of patriotism among our countrymen, especially the youth. He said that people should always remember the great sacrifices made by martyrs of our freedom struggle against the British.During his visit to Sarabha village, which is the native place of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Mr Chaudhary said that Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, a member of the Gadar Party, was one of the first to sacrifice his life for India’s freedom and he was just 19 years old when he attainted martyrdom. 

Accompanied by hundreds of people, the Union Minister also visited Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha’s ancestral house as well as the memorial constructed in the village.While speaking to media persons, Mr PP Chaudhary said that under this programme, Union ministers would visit the places associated with the great martyrs and freedom fighters to commemorate 70 years of India’s Independence and 75 years of “Quit India” movement. He said that this programme would help in igniting the spirit of patriotism among youth, thus, ultimately strengthening the unity in diversity.Later, Mr Chaudhary visited the ancestral house of Shaheed Sukhdev in Mohalla Naughara, here. While paying floral tributes to our great martyr, Mr PP Chaudhary said that Shaheed Sukhdev was born in Ludhiana and was an associate of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Rajguru. The Union Minister urged people to follow the path shown by our martyrs and help in building a nation of their dreams.Prominent among those present on the occasion included BJP District President Mr Ravinder Arora, Youth Akali Dal leader Mr Harkinder Singh Ayali, BJP leaders Mr Kamal Chatley, Mr Gurdeep Singh Neetu, SDM (West) Dr Richa, besides several others.
