National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Friday asked India to shun ego and start a fruitful dialogue with Government of Pakistan over Kashmir. “Government of India must accept the offer of talks over Kashmir from Pakistan. Stakeholders from Kashmir should also be allowed to participate in the dialogue as without them solution to Kashmir problem is not possible,” Dr Farooq Abdullah said.In a statement issued to news agency from London, Dr Farooq Abdullah alleged that Bhartiya Janata Party wants to revoke Article 370 so that it could change the Muslim demography of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. “Indian troopers have got emboldened and encouraged due to the presence of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir and they are unleashing a reign of terror in Valley. The miseries inflicted upon innocent people of Kashmir by Indian troopers have been offending the sentiments of world community. India should keep it in mind that it can’t suppress the dissent through brute force,” Abdullah said adding that India is being criticized all over world for using brute force on civilian population. He said that International Media is denouncing the Indian operations in Kashmir. “Oppressive and repressive policies including the killings of civilians, random arrests, torture, ransacking of houses have only been bring shame to Indian lap all over the world,” he said. While appealing president of India Pranab Mukerji to take note of rights violations taking place in Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah said that India needs to acknowledge and understand the root cause of alienation and unrest in the Valley and accepting the criminal nature of the injustice perpetrated against the people of Jammu and Kashmir from time to time.
